Feeling Wild
This passage focuses on Max’s emotions as he misbehaves and is sent to bed without supper. In his imagination, he travels to a land of Wild Things who crown him king. At first, Max enjoys being wild, but he soon misses love and comfort, realizing he’s acting like the Wild Things-angry and unpredictable. He returns home to find that his mother still cares, and he learns that being loved matters more than being wild.
