Object Stories
This worksheet introduces personification by defining it and asking students to think of an object they want to personify. They write sentences about what the object is “doing” and why, and they can also draw a picture of it. This activity combines both writing and drawing, helping students visualize and describe the human-like qualities of their chosen object. It encourages personal choice, allowing students to connect with the object they personify.
Combining writing and drawing in this activity enhances visual thinking and creative expression. Students practice descriptive writing as they brainstorm human-like qualities for an object of their choice. This worksheet supports individual creativity, as they decide how to personify their selected object, making the learning experience personal and engaging. The dual approach of drawing and writing strengthens their ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas.
