Poetry Tracker
This worksheet has your child read a poem and track repeated ending phrases across different stanzas. It encourages them to slow down and really pay attention to how the poem is structured. Instead of just reading for meaning, they are also looking at how the words are working together. This helps them see that repetition is often used very intentionally in poetry.
As your child fills in the chart, they’ll begin to notice patterns and connections between lines. They may see how repetition adds rhythm or makes certain ideas stand out more clearly. This builds both reading fluency and analytical skills. It also helps them feel more comfortable working with poetry, which can sometimes feel tricky. Over time, this kind of focused practice helps students read poems with more confidence and understanding.
