Clause Identifier

In this activity, students draw a box around the relative adverb and underline the adjective clause that it introduces. Each sentence contains a noun followed by a clause describing that noun using a relative adverb.

This exercise helps students see how relative adverbs connect descriptive clauses to nouns. Recognizing both the adverb and the clause strengthens students’ understanding of how sentences are expanded to include more precise details.
