Writing with Consonance
This worksheet invites your child to try writing their own short lines of poetry using consonance. It gives them space to brainstorm words that share similar consonant sounds and then use those words in a creative way. This makes the activity feel open-ended and expressive rather than structured or rigid. It’s a great opportunity for them to experiment with language.
As your child works on this, they begin to think more about how words sound together, not just what they mean. They may try out different combinations and adjust their wording until it feels right. This kind of experimentation builds both creativity and confidence. It also helps them see that writing can be playful and flexible. Over time, this makes them more willing to take risks and try new things in their writing.
