Scene Stepper
This worksheet takes students through a story in six sequential steps, each with a simple prompt to guide retelling, like “In the beginning,” “Then,” and “At the end.” In the center, there’s a space to draw a significant scene from the story, helping to reinforce their understanding visually. Each box prompts students to think about what happens at that specific point in the narrative. The structure allows students to easily follow the progression of events.
This worksheet promotes comprehension and sequencing by breaking down the story into easy-to-follow steps. The drawing section in the middle reinforces visual comprehension and helps students remember key details. Writing brief summaries for each part also encourages summarization skills, which are essential for language development. Students build logical thinking as they connect each event in sequence.
